Opening a bank account

When you open an account you’ll need some identification – a passport or driving
licence is best. For some accounts a letter from the Department of Work & Pensions
(DWP), showing your national insurance number, will do. You also need some
proof of where you live such as a gas or electricity bill, and you need some
details of your income – wages, salary, pension and/or benefits .
