Each session has been developed to cover a different aspect of money and provides practical help for people whatever their income. Sessions are optional but taken together; the seven sessions provide participants with the essential tools to make sense of the complex and changing financial world, covering mainstream aspects of consumer finance, so that they can make informed decisions for themselves and their families.
The sessions are run as participative workshops which provide a supportive and informal learning environment where the individuals own life experience is valued and respected. Full account is taken of difficulties that participants may have with literacy and numeracy and no-one will have to struggle with ‘hard sums’.
All factual and practical information covered in the workshops is supplied in printed hand outs for filing in the folders provided and each participant receives a free calculator, folder and pen.
All activities delivered are approved by the AQA Unit Award Scheme, the Assessment and Qualification Alliance, the largest unitary awarding body in the country. All persons participating and completing the activities in the workshops will receive accreditation for their personal achievements and receive a certificate for their endeavours.
Each session lasts approximately two/two and half hours with a break half way through.
